As Managing Partner of Wattcrop (https://www.wattcrop.com) I had the pleasure of moderating a panel of two experts from companies representing different aspects within the renewable energy market. The key discussion topic evolved around strategies on how to boost returns from your Solar PV assets. The discussion focused on three main issues.
A. Effective, and pre-emptive, O&M strategies that are vital in maintaining high revenue from your assets
B. Applied strategies you can use to increase capacity, and thus returns
C. Active Management and Site Montioring technologies you should use.

On 30 November, the 28th UN Climate Change Conference, COP 28, started in Dubai. This promising conference will conclude on 12 December, after two weeks of negotiations.
At this critical juncture in the impact of the climate crisis, we all expect tangible commitments from political leaders. COP 28 should be the vehicle for changing the perception of the urgency to adopt measures and actions to address the climate crisis. Accelerating the energy transition from fossil fuels to more environmentally friendly forms of energy is not just a potential solution to the problem but the only one that can slow down and reduce the devastating effects of violent climate change, which is becoming more and more noticeable year by year.

Renewable energy has become an increasingly important topic in recent years, as concerns about climate change and sustainability have grown. As a result, there has been a significant increase in the number of job opportunities available in the renewable energy sector. In this article, we will explore the various opportunities available in renewable energy and how to pursue a green career.
The renewable energy sector encompasses a wide range of technologies, including solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, and biomass. Each of these technologies has its own unique set of job opportunities, from manufacturing and installation to research and development.

Renewable energy has the potential to be one of the most significant solutions to combatting climate change. However, the benefits of renewable energy extend far beyond the environmental impact they make. Renewable energy has the power to create economic opportunities and promote social justice, particularly for communities that have historically been marginalized and underserved.
The intersection of renewable energy and social justice is critical to addressing the current climate crisis. Climate change disproportionately affects low-income communities, Indigenous communities, and communities of color. These communities are often located in areas with a high concentration of pollution from fossil fuels. This pollution leads to a range of health issues, including respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Renewable energy can help reduce air pollution and improve the overall health and well-being of these communities.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from energy production have been a major contributor to global climate change, and efforts to reduce these emissions have been at the forefront of climate action initiatives worldwide. According to recent data released by the International Energy Agency (IEA), CO2 emissions from energy production increased by less than 1% in 2022, marking a notable slowdown in emissions growth.
This news represents a significant achievement in the fight against climate change, as energy production is by far the biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions globally. According to the IEA, energy-related CO2 emissions amounted to around 33.7 gigatons in 2022, with around 40% of these emissions coming from the generation of electricity.

As Managing Partner of Wattcrop (https://www.wattcrop.com) I had the pleasure of moderating a panel of four experts in an insightful discussion about Green Hydrogen Production. The panel representing companies across the supply chain and policy formation discuss key aspects on How to Ensure the Smooth Rollout of this New Technology.
Topics discussed include:
A. What is the expected CAPEX of green hydrogen projects?
B. What is the expected OPEX cost?
C. How large is the potential offtake market?
D. What is the appetite for debt and equity for green hydrogen projects?
