Wattcrop announces new innovative renewable energy projects!

Recently, Wattcrop, true to its vision and commitments, submitted three more renewable energy projects to the independent Regulatory Authority for Waste Energy and Water (RAEAEY) for the issuance of a producer’s certificate. The first of these is a storage project with accumulators while the other two are photovoltaic plants with integrated storage.

The storage project submitted to RAAEY in September is located in the region of Florina. It is an interconnected Energy Storage System (stand-alone BESS) with a Nominal Capacity of 400 MWh and Nominal Power of 100 MW.

The other two projects concern photovoltaic plants with the addition of energy storage systems installed downstream of the meter, without the possibility of absorbing energy from the transmission system or the electricity distribution network to which they will be connected (behind the meter co-located solar and storage). The projects were submitted in the October submission cycle.

The first project is located in the Larissa region, with a total PV plant capacity of 46, MW and a guaranteed (usable) storage capacity of 92.65MWh.

The second project is located in the region of Edessa, with a total capacity of the photovoltaic plant of 52,5 MW and a guaranteed (useful) capacity of the storage station of 104,99 MWh.

All inspections and studies have been carried out by the company’s experienced team of engineers and the acquisition of permits is expected.

Our commitments:

Wattcrop is committed to providing innovative energy solutions that are reliable and cost-effective. These projects are expected to have significant benefits both locally and regionally. With the construction and operation of the above projects, there is no air pollution through the generation of waste, no noise that could affect the fauna and flora of the region and new jobs are created that will primarily employ local professionals. Energy production and storage have the potential to provide solutions to many problems and have the potential to reduce the impact of the energy crisis by introducing efficiency and stabilizing the grid, ensuring that the ambitious goal of carbon neutrality is achieved and providing cost-effectiveness for the supply of energy to end consumers.

It is now a fact that the extensive use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) is a fundamental element of European energy and climate policy on the path to climate neutrality.
